Description
For sale is an electric wire warmer to ease embedding frame wire into beeswax foundation. Item is set up for doing 4 wire runs into deep foundation. The little pressure lever on the left side is to compress the end bars of the frame to help make a tight install of the wire. Frame set in upside down. Then the frame wire is fed back and forth thru the end bar holes and attached to the lower right side of the end bar. Then the slack is worked out all 4 runs of wire and wire is attached at upper right side of the end bar. Then the deep foundation is fed thru the runs and attached to the top bar. The metal tab on the lower right is then pressed up against the wire and a circuit is made thru the wire to the upper tab and the wire gets warm quickly. A spur embedder is still needed as sometimes the embedding doesn't happen as needed (waves),or a run touches a vertical crimped wire and the juice takes a shortcut. The stretching of the wire is an important step here. Technique and paying attention is important too.
There is a learning curve here to install the frame wire correctly and how long to heat the wires. It does its job but it is not a just put it in and go kind of device. And yes I did hundreds of frames with this thing. You will receive all that is pictured. And yes it works. I don't know who manufactured this, but Dadants is a very good possibility. I got it over 25 years ago. This item does not seem to be made anymore in this form. Not in any catalogs.
Questions?? You know what to do. Item without wire roll is 24 in. by 9 in. deep by 5 inches high at back. Add 6 in. more to length for wire roll.
