You are bidding on a computer designed/printed Greytcovers by W.J. Wladyka cover (design #134)(#6 of 12 ) saluting the 50th anniversary of the end of the Korean Conflict (June 25, 1950 - July 28, 1953).The Korean war began on
June 25, 1950
, when some 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean People’s Army poured across the 38th parallel, the boundary between the Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south. This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War. The 'Conflict' has been called 'The Forgotten War'.
The cover is cancelled with a well-struck pictorial postmark on 28 July 2003 at Barre, VT 05641 and is franked with a 37c 'Korean War Memorial' stamp.
