To celebrate 50 years of making toys, Mattel has designed a very special, limited edition porcelain Barbie doll.  Even the colors she wears - red, Mattel's own color, and gold, symbolizing fifty years were carefully selected to make her a special keepsake.
Dressed in rich, red velvet adorned with fifty red roses, her slender gown tapers to a row of glittering red beads, then flares dramatically at the bottom into dozens of shiny gold tone metallic pleats.  Her magnificent stole and headpiece echo the beauty of her dress, while long, fingerless gloves highlight her painted nails. To complete her ensemble Barbie wears red and gold color bead earrings and a special commemorative 23 kt gold electroplated bracelet with  "Mattel" on one side and "50th" on the other.  She is handcrafted from head to toe in the finest bisque porcelain, her face features a new eye-painting technique making her more realistic than ever before.  Her body is individually hand-numbered and bears a special 18 kt gold stamping "50 years" emblem to assure her authenticity. 50th Golden Anniversary Barbie is new, never removed from her box and the box is new.  She has all of the original paperwork.
