Description
This Rare DELOS TDK MA-R Metal Alloy Cassette of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 by The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy (D/DPR 3015) dates to the early 1980s, was rarely played at that time, and has been in storage since. It has a very good appearance, it has been tested, and the J-card is intact, but the labels on both sides of the cassette are beginning to curl.DELOS Reference TDK MA-R Metal Alloy Cassettes were regarded as top-of-the-line Type IV cassettes. They were designed to fully realize the dramatic advantages of metal alloy over conventional tape. Their far superior MOL and freedom from high-frequency saturation deliver more vibrant recordings of wider dynamic range than were previously possible on cassettes. Further, the long-term stability of TDK FINAVINX is assured through a unique polymer coating which permanently seals each one. The metal shell of the cassette--which makes it about twice as heavy as a normal cassette--was designed to reduce vibrations.
